My lawsuit is simmering on the back burner. RUPCO is not talking about it. Neither is the town. It well could be dismissed. Meanwhile: Water and Sewer Hook Up for RUPCO's project.
That's where we are now.
We organized, we showed up, we rallied, we spoke.
RUPCO bullied the town board. Board members, well, four out of five of them, expressed some kind of offense at RUPCO's manner and threatening statements. Two days later, RUPCO took out a big "ad" in the form of a sour grapes letter in Woodstock Times.
During the meeting itself, what was discussed was whether the town has discretionary or ministerial authority to let RUPCO hook up to town water and town sewer. Town Board says their authority is discretionary, RUPCO of course says it is ministerial. This is the big question before the town now, and about which the town is consulting its attorney (curiously not Drayton Grant, but the other attorney who is NOT so involved with the details of RUPCO.)
What will be instructive is to see the Planning Board's treatment of water and sewer hookup, as lead agency, and the wording in the resolutions they passed. Stay tuned for that in the next post.
